Hello, and welcome to Rabid Fantasy Fans Inc., a group for utterly devoted fans of fantasy and science fiction. This is a place for people who love reading, writing, and illustrating fantasy and sci-fi to share their love for the genres with other fantasy and sci-fi fans.

Club Rules

No flaming allowed. If you wish to debate (civilly or not) the superiority of one author/series/character/etc. over another, please do it somewhere else (preferably through private channels). The last thing we want is for the club page to turn into a perpetual catfight. Share your love for the genre, don’t force it upon someone else!

No spam. This is related to the previous rule - don’t spam other club members with comments you wouldn’t want on your own page. Also, don’t spam the club page with chain comments.

Keep it varied. In order to keep this club from becoming a shrine to any particular author or fandom, members are required to wait a week before submitting another piece of prose or art, original or fanwork. For example, if you submitted an original prose piece (an installment of a series is counted as one piece) and one piece of fanart today, you would have to wait one week to submit another prose piece and another piece of art, even if it’s fanfiction and original art. Note that non-collection photos are counted as art.

Comments. If your submission is also posted in your deviantART account or another website that allows comments, comments will be disabled on the copy posted in the club account, with a link to the original piece in the description.

Changes to rules. The club admins, ~flamedraconian and =Reidyn, reserve the right to change, edit and add, without prior notice, any rules they deem necessary to keep the club running smoothly. If you have any objections, please send a note to the club.

Membership

Membership is open to all! Just send us a note with “Membership” in the subject line and the username you want to register.

DON’T comment on this journal – if there are a lot of comments to sort through, we can’t guarantee that we’ll see yours.

DON'T comment on the userpage - those don't show up in our message box and we can't guarantee that they will be seen.

Submissions

Members will be able to submit in one of two categories:

Original work: Original art and prose that falls within the bounds of fantasy and sci-fi.

Fanwork: Fanart (including cosplay photos), fanfiction, and photos of collections* based on the author, series, TV show, or movie of their choice (with some exceptions – see the pseudo-legal note below), as long as it falls within the bounds of fantasy and sci-fi.

_{* A collection can include books written by a particular author/in a particular series or boxed sets of tapes or DVDs of a series as well as guidebooks, companion series, art books, role-playing sourcebooks, diaries, cookbooks, figurines, etc. – basically, anything derived from the fandom is fair game.}

How to submit:

Submissions may be sent via an e-mail titled 'Submission' to the club's e-mail address, RabidFantasyFansInc@yahoo.com, -OR- via a note titled 'Submission' to the club account. In the note or e-mail, please include the following form (you must fill it out once for each submission you include, in order to minimize confusion on our part):

Pseudo-legal Note

We are aware that certain established authors and studios do not like fanfiction and/or fanart derived from their work being posted on the web, to the extent that they will take legal action against anyone who does so. We respect their stance and therefore will not post fanart or fanfiction based on the work of the authors and studios listed in this journal: [link]

This doesn’t mean that you can’t join if you like them – only that we won’t post fanart or fanfiction related to them.
